Are sessions in person? Sessions are offered over Zoom or on the phone. If you are new to Zoom, no problem. I simply email you a link and 'poof' you are in. No need to download Zoom or to do any technical changes. If you prefer phone and voice only, that works too!
What does Career Planning look like? Career planning begins with a good long chat about you and where you are currently at. Then you move on to your thoughts, ideas, visions and hopes for your future. Along with this you do personality assessments and get clear on who you are and what truly matters to you. During these sessions we will be exploring options and ideas for your future.
How many sessions will I need? It depends on what you need and want and how things go during the sessions. Some people have weekly or bi-weekly sessions over a couple of months, and for others a couple of sessions is all they require to get things moving in their life. Every person and situation is unique. You decide as you go.
What if I just need a resume? How does that work? First we book an appointment and go through your resume and your plan together. Sometimes it is an easy fix and a bit of advice is all that is needed. Sometimes you want a whole new resume and plan which will take more time. What matters to me is that you get a resume and portfolio that is genuinely you and gets you what you want.
What if I have never had a job? Great! We get to plan your next steps together. There are so many options out there and it is important that you find an option that feels suited and interesting to you. Often this includes both a short term plan and a long term plan. Let's get at it.
What if I am totally stuck and don't even know what I need or want regarding my career or my work? Many people come to me feeling stuck and confused and not sure what to do. No problem at all - that is a perfect place to begin. What we will do is have a good conversation and I will be asking a lot of questions that will help you to get a clearer idea of what you want and need in our process together and in your life overall.
Are there any extra costs? No extra costs - sometimes our time might go over a bit and our first session is 1.5 hours but the cost is always the same - $105 per session. As part of the career planning process we often do Personality and Interest Assessments etc. They are all included in the $105 per session. Note that sliding scale fees are available for students, underemployed, creatives, and developing entrepreneurs. Also, there is no set amount of sessions as I mentioned above. It is all up to you!
